    Notes
    • There is some conjecture here as James and Bridget's family do not include sisters Mary and Catherine. Both lived in Wellington County, and would have already been married before the 1851 Canadian Census.

James apparently arrived in Canada prior to 1844, from an interesting record from the Toronto Mirror on 2/2/1844. Born at Clare; funds forwarded from the Gore of Toronto...this is a List of Repealers who subscribed to the fund raised by the Loyal Irish Repeal Association of Toronto. In 1846, he lived in Toronto, and by 1851 Census was in Wellington County, Ontario. Moved to De Pere, Brown, Wisconsin in between 1861-1870.

A record from 1825, Tithe Applotment Books, lists a James Normile, County: Clare, Parish: Killard. Townland: Cloongarvan.
