Note: Daniel Bassett b. 1743 bought 300 acres in the western half of Lot 41 Ovid township, Cayuga Co. (now Seneca Co.) NY (part of the Onondaga Military tract) Mar 25, 1805. The deed was signed and sealed in Litchfield Co., Conn and 62 year old Daniel may not have ever walked to his land. 2 months later Daniel resold half of his purchase to his sons Samuel and Daniel, Jr.May 29, 1805.
Daniel b. 1743 was dead by 1811 when a deed conveyed 101 acres to son Lemuel. This deed was signed by 3 of his brothers and their wives: Daniel, Jr and Phebe dau of Joshua Covert of Farmerville, NY; Samuel and wife Mary "Polly" Caywood; and Robert Clark Bassett and wife Unice. How Robert got some of the land has been lost to history. Daniel Jr. sold out in 1821 and moved farther west.

Ebenezer Ford Bennett b. 1772 son of Thomas Bennett and Mary "Molly" Ford. Anna Beardsley b. 1770 dau of Eliakim Beardsley and Easter Sherman. Anna was widowed the year one of her daughters was born (1806); she was 36 ane lived to be 84. Her 7 children were less than a year to thirteen years old. Some time after Lemuel Bassett married Julia Bennett, Anna brought her remaining 5 daughters to NY and lived in a little home in the southwest corner of Samuel's farm. She kept school for young children and taught sewing. Anna's son and Julia's brother Lucius T. Bennett m. Elizabeth Didama and their dau Julia M. Bennett m. Aaron Wilson my gggrandfather.
